the “downvote” feature on reddit turns it into one of the biggest echo chambers on the internet. It engages a primal part of my brain that a competitive sport might trigger. And I think that’s the problem with the platform –nerds who would otherwise find a healthy outlet like touching grass flock there to vent their pent up negativity
this take makes angry. I’ve heard it repeated it by many (including my friends) who identify as either leftist, anarchist, libertarian, etc. These are the same people who generally endorse mutual aid as a means of protest
