Capitalization shows respect for an Idea. That is the purpose. Capitalizing the first word between sentences shows makes it easier to discern between sentences, respecting the readability of a work and respecting the eyes of the reader by proxy
the leading argument for No-cap is that it enables faster typing and therefore approaches a more pure stream of consciousness. Many of my friends No-cap. It feels more conversational and casual. I claim it is a bit pretentious. It has an insincere, artificial casualness. Most good writing usually requires revision, and it’s unlikely a well written piece is not mulled over a bit. We all know what you are doing
but i also yield that the writability and tone of No-cap has benefits that the readability and intentionality of Trad-cap don’t touch on
i think you can get the best of both worlds with a mix of both. Digital mediums have ditched indentation. It’s the perfect opportunity to sneak in a No-capped vibe to your writing. Call it “No-cap indent”. The concept is self explanatory.
this idea extends to titles. They aren’t part of a paragraph so it doesn’t help to emphasize them (if anything, it’s MORE pretentious to capitalize them. What makes your title so important?).
i will always capitalize the names of others, however
